In this day and age our society is under immense pressure to look good. We are constantly bombarded by images of actors, models, singers and various other sensational beauties, all of who epitomize physical perfection. Their dazzling hair and marvelous skin are, at the very least, extremely desirable. However, for many stars and starlets, these attributes are achieved as a result of delicate care and, in some cases, progressive therapy by various means. There are dedicated professionals who endeavour to aid such people in their pursuit of pristine hair and skin. This unique method of hair care combines the use of modern technology with ayurvedic medicine. In her quest to attain solutions for those ever-present hair problems Nita Gosalia, the founder of this enterprise, has analyzed and tested every viable treatment technique known to man. A journey from cutting edge methods such as laser and radiation therapy to a variety of ancient cures and folk remedies has revealed answers that may finally demolish the building blocks of hair maladies.

In attempting to solve hair disorders it is important to first understand the various aspects of each disorderno matterdiminutive they may be.  Amongst the commonly known conditions, Alopecia must take the title of most popular.  Alopecia exists in a plethora of forms all of which act to terrorize the state of healthy hair.Androgenic Alopecia is one form where baldness is caused by the miniaturization of hair follicles due to the overproduction of hormones primarily testosterone and its active metabolite dihydrotestosterone. These hormones are present in all of us as they play an important role in the development of various of biological characteristics in men and women. However, in excessive amounts these androgens can prove to be disastrous to the cells comprising our scalp.  Androgenic Alopecia presents itself in distinct patterns in males and females. In the male pattern, hair recedes from the front of the scalp whilst in the female pattern hair is lost primarily over the crown (middle of the scalp) with the sparing of the frontal hair.

Another common form of alopecia is alopecia areata. This is considered an autoimmune disease in which multiple structures of the hair follicle are mistakenlyantagonized by our own immune system during its growth phase, hence resulting in improper hair development. Approximately 20 percent of Areata sufferers have a family history of alopecia whilst in others, the disorder may be triggered by a major life event such as an illness, pregnancy, or post-traumatic stress. The effects of this disease are physically represented as bald patches that appear on non-specific areas of the scalp.

Despite being slightly less common another hair ailment that is worthy of mention is telogen effluvium.  The telogen phase is a natural phase of the hair growth cycle in which a small number of hair shafts are shed from their follicle. However, during telogen effluvium, an increased proportion of hair follicles are forced into this phase, thus inducing the excessive shedding of hair from the scalp.

Having said all that has been said, it is important to establish that not all hair loss problems can be attributed to genetic defects or complicated diseases. Very frequently our hair is cornered into a detrimental state due to unhealthy habits such as excessive smoking and consumption of alcohol, having an imbalanced diet, irregular sleeping habits and a whole host of others all of which contribute to the degradation of the hair follicle and its associated structures.

All the information you have read to this point describes only the beginning of a long list of villains that threaten the wellbeing of our precious hair. Nevertheless, despite the armies of ailments that threaten our scalp there are a variety of methods we can employ to protect, prevent and cure. For most of the diseases above, modern medicine suggests the use of a cocktail of drugs such as minoxidil, finasteride and a variety of corticosteroids. However, in most cases what they fail to mention is the side effects of these drugs, a short summary of the negative effects include depression, impotence, rashes, contact dermatitis, a suppressed immune system and paradoxically, hair loss.

It is needless to say why here at Neeta’s Herbal we prefer the use of naturally occurring, non-synthetic ingredients to nurture and strengthen your hair. It is completely possible to reverse any and all of the problems above using simple herbal countermeasures that are safe and free of debilitating side effects.
